Prof. Paraskevi Fragopoulou, received her diploma in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 1989, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada in 1990 and 1995, respectively. Currently, she is a Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
She performed research in several European Institutions such as the École Normale Supérieur de Lyon (ENS-Lyon), and the Danish Computer Center for Research and Education (UNI-C) where she was part of the parallel scientific computing group. She received a Marie-Curie European Fellowship at the Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France and was Maitre de Conference at the Université de Versailles, France.
Prof. Fragopoulou, has co-authored more than 70 conference/journal papers and book chapters. She has served as a reviewer for several journals and in the program committee of several international conferences. Her primary research interests are in the areas of Distributed and Parallel Computing, Peer-to-Peer systems, Grid Computing, Computer Networks and Communications, and Internet Technology. She has participated in several projects funded by the European Commission and by the Greek Government.
