Brief CV

Magdalene Dragasaki is an Agronomist and Assistant Professor of Plant Physiology and Tissue Culture in the Department of Agriculture, School of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, TEI of Crete. She holds a BSc from the Agricultural University of Athens, a specialisation certificate in Floriculture from the Agricultural University of Wageningen, Netherlands, an MSc in Crop Physiology from the University of Reading, UK, and a PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
She has participated in research programmes as research coordinator or associate, and has supervised two PhD theses in collaboration with Cranfield University, UK.
Her research interests focus on the physiology of horticultural and vegetable species under stress conditions, methods of propagation and exploitation of wild plants as horticultural or vegetable crops, and the improvement of the postharvest life of specific vegetable produce.
She teaches the undergraduate courses Plant Development Physiology and Postharvest Technology of Fruit and Vegetable Produce, and participates in the teaching of the postgraduate courses Topics in Cultivated Plant Physiology – Modern Developments and Applications, and Postharvest Physiology and Postharvest Management of Fresh Agricultural Produce.
