Dr Irini Dimou is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the TEI of Crete and a member of the Tourism Management Department of the Hellenic Open University (Tourism Business Administration MSc). She has also worked as a Certified Honorary Teacher for the online MBA programme of Liverpool University and as a full-time Professor at the American College of Greece (Deree College). She is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration, Athens University of Economics and Business, and has received a PhD from the University of Surrey with a grant from the Greek National Scholarship Foundation (IKY). Her thesis was on “Expansion Strategies of International Hotel Firms”.
She has published many papers in international scientific journals and conference proceedings, including the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Marketing Channels and the Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management. She has also carried out various sectoral studies as an external collaborator of Greek and international business consulting agencies.
Her research interests include strategic management with emphasis on tourism businesses, management of international companies and tourism education. She is also a reviewer with international journals such as the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Annals of Tourism Research, Anatolia, the EuroMed Journal of Business, and Industry and Higher Education. Finally, she also participates in European Research Programmes implemented in collaboration with the TEI of Crete.
