The HMU facilities and student welfare services are the result of long-term endeavors of social empathy in encountering delicate issues of vulnerable social groups that are part of the student population.
Students can engage in various intellectual and recreational activities supported by the university. After their arrival and throughout their studies, they can rely for personal advisory support in the Counseling and Psychosocial Support Center.
The HMU provides free catering service to approximately 2500 students in its restaurants, in the university premises in Heraklion, and in the Departments in Chania, Rethymnon, Agios Nikolaos and Sitia.
The HMU Student Residencies in Heraklion and Sitia accommodate respectively 296 and 23 students. Moreover, the HMU collaborates with hotels for the accommodation of students in the Departments of Chania, Rethymno and Agios Nikolaos.
