The Committee serves as an advisory body of the University and is responsible for submitting recommendations to the competent governing bodies regarding the development and implementation of policies that ensure equal access for persons with disabilities and persons with special educational needs. Indicatively, the Committee’s responsibilities include:
a) Preparing and submitting to the University’s Governing Council a comprehensive plan for ensuring equal access for persons with disabilities and persons with special educational needs. This plan includes proposed technical and non-technical accessibility measures, an implementation timeline, and recommendations for its improvement.
b) Submitting recommendations to the Rector regarding the conclusion of public procurement contracts for the supply of equipment or the provision of services necessary for implementing the plan described in point (a).
c) Designing and implementing programs, actions, seminars, informational events, and other related initiatives, in collaboration with public sector bodies (as defined in Article 14, paragraph 1(a) of Law 4270/2014) or social organizations. These initiatives aim to raise awareness among academic staff, administrative personnel, and students about equal access to higher education for persons with disabilities and persons with special educational needs.
The members of the Committee for Equal Access for Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Special Educational Needs are:

- Georgios Kritsotakis, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration and Tourism, School of Management and Economics Sciences.
- Theocharis Konstantinidis, Associate Professor, Department of Nursing, School of Health Sciences.
- Maria Moudatsou, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, School of Health Sciences.
- Vasileios Saltas, Associate Professor, Department of Electronic Engineering, School of Engineering.
- Charalampos Koutroulis, Head of the Directorate of Technical Services
- Zacharoula Kasseri, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, School of Health Sciences, Coordinator of the Teaching and Learning Support Center.
- The Committee’s composition will be completed with the appointment of the Head of the Unit for Equal Access for Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Special Educational Needs.
The Committee’s composition will be completed with the election of the student representative by the Student Council.
