Electroacoustic Spring 2026 took place on 29 and 30 May 2026, at 8:30 p.m., at the Amphitheatre of the Department of Music Technology and Acoustics of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, in Rethymno.
Electroacoustic Spring is the annual festival of electroacoustic music in Rethymno, organised since 2014. This year’s programme included compositions representing different trends in electroacoustic and acousmatic music, featuring both recent and earlier works from the international repertoire. The works were presented through an orchestra of loudspeakers placed around the audience, offering a distinctive listening experience.
This year’s edition included a special tribute to Andreas Mniestris, a concert featuring works by the Belgian Federation of Electroacoustic Music / FeBeME-BeFEM, as well as works by members of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music / CIME-ICEM and the Hellenic Association of Electroacoustic Music Composers / HELMCA.
In total, works by Andreas Mniestris, Bruno Abt, Roelandt Luyten, Victor Outters, Sophie Delafontaine, Dirk Veulemans, Edmar Soria, Mario Mary, Jon Christopher Nelson, John Young, João Pedro Oliveira, Stelios Zoumadakis, Spyros Polychronopoulos, Dimitris Barnias, Nikolas Valsamakis and Katerina Tzedaki were presented.
The festival was coordinated by Associate Professor Katerina Tzedaki and Lecturer Nikolas Valsamakis of the Department of Music Technology and Acoustics.
