On Wednesday, September 14th of 2022 at 12.00 p.m. at the Events Amphitheater of the School of Health Sciences on the campus in Heraklion, it was conducted the ceremony of the award of Professor Roman Slowinski of the University of Poznań University of Technology in Poland as an Honorary Doctor of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the School of Management and Economics of the Hellenic Mediterranean University in recognition of his contribution to the Science of Business Research with Applications in Risk Management.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the university community of the institution, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral researchers of the Department as well as collaborators of the Laboratory of Accounting and Financial Management (LAFIM).
On behalf of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Professor Roman Slowinski addressed and talked about his work, the Rector, Professor Nikolaos Katsarakis, the President of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Assoc. Professor Ioannis Chatziantoniou and the Associate of the LAFIM Laboratory, Honorary Professor of the H.M.U. and Professor at the Technical University of Crete, Professor Konstantinos Zopounidis.
The award of the Doctoral Degree to the honoree was made by the Rector, Professor Nikolaos Katsarakis, while the Vice-Rector for Research and Lifelong Learning of the H.M.U., Professor Christos Floros, handed him a commemorative Honorary Plaque.
Professor Roman Slowinski, after cordially thanking the community of the Hellenic Mediterranean University as a whole for his honor and distinction, praised the institution for the high level of its curricula and the research carried out as well as for the very important internationalization effort it has been attempting in recent years.
