A delegation from the academic and administrative staff of the Norwegian University Fagskolen Innlanbet visited the facilities of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) in Heraklion on May 12, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to explore the perspectives of developing collaborations at an educational and research level with the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer and Electronic Engineering in the fields of renewable energy sources, energy storage technologies and the transportation of the generated energy. The delegation of the Norwegian University met the Rector of HMU Professor Nikolaos Katsarakis, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Lifelong Learning, Professor Photios Mavromatakis, officials of the Office of International Relations, as well as staff of the university laboratories related to the above areas of interest . Issues related to the educational systems of the two countries, the educational possibilities of Norwegian students at HMU were discussed, while afterwards, the delegation of the Norwegian University was given a tour of the facilities of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The delegation will participate in the work of the 10th International Week of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (https://10iw.hmu.gr) which will be held from May 15 – 19, 2023 at the HMU facilities in Chania. The Norwegian University will organize a visit to HMU in October with the participation of students and professors and the conduct of an intensive educational program on energy issues.
