The response of the members of the University Community of the Hellenic Mediterranean University to the call for an emergency voluntary blood donation for the victims of the recent train accident in Tempi was very touching.
The blood donation took place in collaboration with the Blood Donation Department of PAGNI Hospital, during the three day national mourning, on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the “Smyrnakis” Amphitheater in the central courtyard of HMU in Heraklion.
Specifically, a total of 72 bottles of blood were collected from the students and staff of the University. The organization and conduct of the emergency blood donation took place with the valuable assistance of the Radio Station and the “PARONTES” Volunteer Network of HMU.
The members of the academic community of the Hellenic Mediterranean University express their deep sorrow and sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this unprecedented multi-fatal accident.
