The new academic year 2024-2025 began with a festive atmosphere for the first-year students of Hellenic Mediterranean University, at the central event held in their honor on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Heraklion Campus. The first-year students flooded the Amphitheater “B. Zacharopoulos”.
The students were warmly welcomed, on behalf of HMU, by the rector Prof. Nikos Katsarakis, while on behalf of the Region of Crete and on behalf of the Municipality of Heraklion, the Deputy Regional Governor for Liaison with Research and Academic Institutions, Mr. Giorgos Matalliotakis as well and the Authorized Advisor of the Municipality of Heraklion for the interface with the University and Research Institutions, Mr. Nikos Kontarakis both attended and greeted them.
At the event, the first-year students had the opportunity to be informed about the University’s administrative services as well as about the actions of the Student Groups of multiple activities (Cultural, Sports, Technology and Volunteering) that are active at HMU. After the presentations, the Welcome Day continued in the forecourt of the amphitheater with music and treats.
