The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) is proud to co-organize the 11th International Conference on Civil Protection & New Technologies – SafeHeraklion 2025, taking place from October 22 to 24, 2025 at the HMU premises in Heraklion, Crete (School of Health Sciences, Estavromenos).
The conference, organized by SafeGreece in collaboration with HMU, aspires to bring together scientific institutions, local authorities, central administration, the private sector, and volunteer organizations from Greece and abroad, with goals including:
• Strengthening cross-sectoral cooperation in Civil Protection
• Leveraging new technologies for efficiency and prevention
• Exchanging experiences, best practices, and lessons learned
• Addressing modern challenges in the field
The program features 26 thematic areas, including special sessions such as:
– Santorini Seismicity 2025
– Artificial Intelligence in Civil Protection
– Crete: Hazards and Climate Crisis Adaptation,
as well as parallel events, roundtables, and workshops.
HMU actively supports national and international policies that prioritize Civil Protection, consistently enhancing initiatives focused on prevention, preparedness, and resilience in the face of natural and human-made disasters. The university strongly encourages faculty, researchers, and students to participate in SafeHeraklion 2025 with presentations, papers, and active engagement.
