The International Relations Office, in collaboration with the Library and Information Center of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), is organizing the “1st HMU International Week for Academic Libraries”, from September 22–26, 2025, at the Library’s seminar room in Heraklion.
The event will host 40 librarians from 20 countries, including: Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Romania, Morocco, Georgia, Algeria, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Libya, Uganda, Palestine, and Greece. From Greece, participants will represent: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Patras, National Technical University of Athens, and Technical University of Crete.

This HMU initiative aims to:
- Promote international collaboration among academic librarians,
- Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and innovative practices,
- Provide insights into current trends and global challenges in the field of academic libraries,
- Highlight the critical role of academic libraries in supporting research, education, and learning.
