The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) has successfully completed the QS Stars evaluation, conducted every four years by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s leading organizations in university rankings and higher education assessment. The University achieved a significant distinction, receiving an overall 4-Star rating (QS Stars).
This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it concerns a regional public university, established in 2019, which has managed within a short period to develop a recognized international presence. The 4 QS Stars rating serves as strong confirmation of HMU’s dynamic development across key areas, including education, research, international engagement, governance, and societal impact.
The QS Stars evaluation enables universities to highlight their strengths in a structured and internationally comparable way. The results provide a substantial advantage in terms of visibility and reputation, while also supporting the attraction of prospective students, academic staff, and institutional partners from both Greece and abroad.
For HMU, this distinction reflects the collective efforts of its academic community, administrative staff, students, research teams, and collaborating organizations. At the same time, it demonstrates that a young, dynamic, and regionally based public university can establish a strong academic footprint and compete effectively on the global higher education stage.
HMU continues to invest systematically in quality assurance, the continuous enhancement of its study programmes, the support of research activity, internationalization, and the overall student experience, with the aim of becoming a point of reference for higher education in Crete, Greece, and internationally
A significant international distinction for the Hellenic Mediterranean University!
