The Urban Green Observatory of Crete, in collaboration with the European Arboricultural Council, is organising the international conference European Arboriculture Summit 2026, under the theme: “Urban Trees: Bridging Standards with Science and Practice.”

The conference will take place from 9 to 11 September 2026 at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, in Heraklion, Crete. The event is expected to bring together scientists, researchers, professionals in the field, organisations and interested citizens, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experience and contemporary practices on the future of urban arboriculture.

During the conference, key principles and modern European standards for urban tree management will be presented, with particular emphasis on innovative technologies such as photomechanics, LiDAR and advanced diagnostic tools that are shaping the future of urban green management.
