Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between HMU and SEPE

The Hellenic Mediterranean University and the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology and Communications Enterprises (SEPE) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, in the University Rectorate’s Meeting Room, launching a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the connection between the academic community and the rapidly evolving Information and Communication Technologies sector.

The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the Hellenic Mediterranean University by the Rector, Professor Nikos Katsarakis, and on behalf of SEPE by the President of its Board of Directors, Ms Giota Paparidou.

The signing ceremony was attended, on behalf of HMU, by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, Professor Fotis Mavromatakis, and the Executive Director, Dr Vanessa Simantiraki. Representatives of SEPE member companies also attended the ceremony: Konstantinos Tsoukakis from CLOUDT, Alexandros Tzortzakakis from Aegean Solutions, and Ilias Sarantoglou from CLOUD Services – Oxygen.

The new partnership lays the foundations for the development of joint actions and initiatives that will strengthen the connection between the academic community and the Information and Communication Technologies sector.

The Memorandum provides for cooperation between the two organisations in areas of mutual interest, including education and vocational training, research and innovation, knowledge transfer, and the connection of HMU students and graduates with companies operating in the digital technology industry.

The two organisations also intend to develop joint scientific, educational and informational activities, support initiatives aimed at further developing digital skills, and explore opportunities for cooperation in research and development programmes.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the exchange of knowledge and good practices, keeping the university community informed about rapid developments and emerging needs in the digital technology sector, and creating opportunities for internships, professional development and networking for the University’s students and graduates.
