Every year on the last Friday of September, the Institution of the Researchers’ Night is celebrated throughout Europe. This year in seven (7) cities of Greece, dozens of scientists – researchers in universities and research centers coordinate and organize initiatives and actions for the public with the aim of promoting research.
Since 2018, the Institute of Plasma physics and lasers (IPPL) of the HMU has been coordinating the Researchers’ Night for Rethymno and this year it has has the opportunity to organize the evening’s event in person at its premises at the Three Monasteries of Rethymno (AREA OF ASEAR) map.
On Friday 30th of September 2022 from 17:00 in the afternoon a number of actions related to research at the Institute will take place: guided tours of the laboratories, presentations of experiments and simulations, popularized speeches, but also actions for children and adults.
Also, on Monday 26th of September 2022, in the context of additional activities for the Researchers’ Night, “Science in the City” in Ag. Barbara (former library) will be open (15:00 – 17:00) to welcome young and older children in interactive activities on science using new technologies, while at the “House of Culture”, in the Old Town of Rethymno (17:30 – 21:00) popularized speeches will be given in various scientific fields by distinguished researchers.
