The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) is organizing a major scientific symposium on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, titled:
“Introducing the New Era of Ageing Healthcare in a Digital World:
Cutting-edge Technologies and Inclusive Innovations for Healthy Longevity.”
The event will take place at the Amphitheatre of the School of Health Sciences at HMU, from 10:00 to 14:00, with the option to attend either in person or online. Participation is free and open to the public.
The symposium is part of the dissemination activities of the international Joint MSc programme:
“Innovative Technologies and Contemporary, Integrated Healthcare in Ageing” (ITHA)
and marks its official presentation to the wider public.
According to the programme, the thematic areas focus on the transition of healthcare systems towards a digital, sustainable, and human-centered model of elderly care, with emphasis on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and smart monitoring systems.
The Joint MSc is implemented in collaboration between:
the Departments of Social Work, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Electrical & Computer Engineering of HMU
and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon
The programme aims to train specialized healthcare and social care professionals through an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on digital innovation and sustainable healthcare for ageing populations.
