Action on Greek PDO and PGI Wines at HMU

The Department of Agriculture of the Hellenic Mediterranean University is co-organising, together with the National Interprofessional Organisation of Vine and Wine and the Wines of Crete Network, an event entitled:

“Greek PDO and PGI Wines and the Culture of Responsible Consumption”

The event aims to promote Greek wines with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), with special reference to the Cretan vineyard, while also strengthening wine education and responsible consumption.

Through presentations and a tasting of selected wines, participants will have the opportunity to discover the quality, identity and cultural character of PDO and PGI wines from Crete, as well as the importance of responsible consumption as part of a modern wine culture.

The event will take place on Friday, 22 May 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00, at the Central Amphitheatre SEY K45, in the building complex of the School of Health Sciences of the Hellenic Mediterranean University.

The event is addressed to members of the academic community, professionals in the sector, students and anyone interested in learning more about the richness of the Greek and Cretan vineyard.
