🩺 The 2nd cycle was successfully completed!
👉 Applications are now open for the 3rd cycle of the training program.
📘 Program Content:
The program “Simulated Clinical Training in the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)” aims to provide healthcare professionals with theoretical and practical training in the use of the intra-aortic balloon pump, the most commonly used device for short-term mechanical circulatory support worldwide.
Participants will acquire specialized knowledge in circulatory physiology, IABP function, operation of the control console, recognition of complications, and management of clinical scenarios through hands-on training with a simulator.
👥 The program is addressed to:
- Physicians, nurses, extracorporeal circulation specialists, and other healthcare professionals working in healthcare facilities with the capacity to provide mechanical circulatory support through IABP, such as general and specialized Intensive Care Units, including cardiology and cardiac surgery ICUs, catheterization laboratories, cardiac operating rooms, emergency departments, and critical care transport services.
- Physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who wish to acquire specialized knowledge regarding the intra-aortic balloon pump.
🎯 Objectives
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the basic principles of cardiac physiology and hemodynamics.
- Analyze the theoretical foundations of mechanical circulatory support.
- Identify indications, contraindications, and complications related to the use of IABP.
- Properly adjust and manage IABP operation through the control console in the clinical setting.
- Respond promptly to alarms and technical problems by applying troubleshooting protocols.
- Assess the hemodynamic status of the patient under support.
- Apply their knowledge and skills in realistic simulated clinical scenarios.
- Effectively use the asynchronous educational material for consolidation and review.
