The Hellenic Mediterranean University achieved an important international distinction, as the undergraduate student team HMU Robotics Club ranked 17th in the finals of the international robotics competition Eurobot 2026, held from May 14 to 16, 2026, in La Roche-sur-Yon, France.
The HMU team stood out among 160 university teams from around the world by designing and developing highly complex autonomous robotic systems, inspired by this year’s competition theme, “Winter is Coming.”
Eurobot is considered one of the most demanding international university robotics competitions, bringing together teams from universities and research institutions worldwide. Participants are required to combine engineering, programming, automation, artificial intelligence, and strategic thinking in order to successfully complete complex robotic missions in a fully autonomous environment.
The success of the HMU Robotics Club reflects the high level of technological training, innovation, teamwork, and creativity fostered within the academic community of the Hellenic Mediterranean University. At the same time, it highlights the dynamic presence of HMU students in international scientific and technological competitions.
