New Quality Certification for Hellenic Mediterranean University: The Center for Training and Lifelong Learning Certified to ISO 21001:2018

Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) continues to consistently invest in quality assurance and the continuous enhancement of its academic, educational and administrative functions, fostering a modern and effective culture of quality across the full spectrum of its activities.

A significant new step in this direction is the recent certification of HMU’s Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (K.E.DI.VI.M.) to ISO 21001:2018, the international standard for management systems for educational organizations, by TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas. This certification confirms the Center’s commitment to providing high-quality training and lifelong learning programmes through structured, transparent and continuously evaluated processes.

This development forms part of Hellenic Mediterranean University’s broader strategy for systematic quality assurance and continuous quality improvement. This strategy was also clearly reflected in the successful certification of the University’s Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) in April 2025, confirming the effectiveness of the procedures developed by the Institution for monitoring, evaluating and enhancing its academic and administrative activities.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, Professor Fotis Mavromatakis, stated:

“Quality assurance is a long-term commitment for Hellenic Mediterranean University and a key pillar of its strategic development. The certification of the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning to ISO 21001:2018, following the successful certification of the University’s Internal Quality Assurance System, confirms the systematic effort being made towards continuous improvement. Our objective is for quality to be tangibly reflected in the services we provide to our students, learners and society.”

Hellenic Mediterranean University continues to develop mechanisms and procedures that support continuous improvement and academic excellence, with the aim of being a modern, outward-looking and reliable public university, responsive to the needs of society and to the contemporary requirements of higher education and lifelong learning.
