Dear first-year students,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Hellenic Mediterranean University and warmly congratulate you on your success. These days mark the beginning of a new and important chapter in your lives—a journey of knowledge, creativity, new experiences, and personal growth.
At our University, you will find an academic institution that invests in the quality of education and research, but also in something equally important: people and their needs. You will have the opportunity to participate in cultural, sports, volunteer, and technology groups, develop new skills, meet remarkable people, and draw inspiration from ideas that may change the way you see the world.
I also want you to know that the University will be there to support you throughout your studies. Student Welfare Services provide support in the areas of meals, accommodation and housing assistance, urban transportation, healthcare, psychological and counselling support, as well as equal access services for our students. These services are continuously being enhanced, with the aim of becoming universally available across all University campuses in the near future.
I strongly encourage you to take advantage of these services and submit the relevant applications as soon as possible. In particular, with regard to student meals, the overwhelming majority of you are eligible to receive three free meals per day at the University restaurants across all our campuses.
However, student life is not only about services and academic studies. It is also a time to discover who you are and what you are capable of becoming. Do not be afraid to set ambitious goals, to try new things, to collaborate, to question ideas constructively, and to dream.
As a University, we have a major responsibility: to provide you with the knowledge, opportunities, and environment in which you can grow and develop. You, in turn, have your own responsibility: to make the most of this opportunity and to believe in your abilities.
