The graduation and degree award ceremony for 128 graduates of the Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of Business Administration and Tourism at the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) was held on Friday, 5 June 2026, at the “Vassilis Zacharopoulos” Auditorium, in a particularly warm and moving atmosphere.

The Department extends its warmest congratulations to all its graduates and wishes them every success in their future careers.

The graduates took their oath in the presence of the Rector of HMU, Professor Nikolaos Katsarakis; the Vice-Rectors, Professor Fotios Mavromatakis and Professor Nikolaos Vidakis; the Deputy Regional Governor of Crete responsible for liaison with research and academic institutions, Dr Georgios Matalliotakis; the Vice-President of the Eastern Crete Regional Department of the Economic Chamber of Greece, Mr Nikolaos Mavromatakis; the Dean of the School of Management and Economics, Professor Alexandros Apostolakis; the Chair of the Department, Associate Professor Markos Kourgiantakis; members of the academic and administrative staff of the Department of Business Administration and Tourism; and a large number of relatives and friends.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of an excellence award by Grant Thornton to graduate Ms Maria Tachmazidou, who achieved the highest academic performance. The award was presented by Mr Konstantinos Antonakakis, Assurance Partner at Grant Thornton’s Crete office. Ms Maria Maniadi, Assurance Senior Manager at Grant Thornton’s Crete office, also attended the ceremony.

On the occasion of the award presentation, representatives of Grant Thornton stated:
