Manos Kymakis, Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) and Director of the Institute of Emerging Technologies of the University Research and Innovation Center of HMU, has been elected a fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (European Academy of Sciences – https://www.eurasc.eu) in the field of Materials Science, following an evaluation by the Academy’s Senate. The official welcoming ceremony of Mr. Kymakis to the Academy will take place in Geneva in December 2025.
This international distinction, which is awarded to scientists based on their outstanding contribution to the advancement of science and interdisciplinary cooperation, is also a recognition of the high level of research conducted at HMU, considering that, to date, only 28 scientists from Greek Universities have received this honorary distinction. The Academy encompasses all fields of science, currently numbers over 600 members from 47 countries and includes 65 Nobel Prize winners.

His innovative research has not only expanded the boundaries of nanotechnology and electrical engineering science, but has also paved the way for sustainable energy solutions. As a EURASC Fellow, he will join a distinguished community of scientists dedicated to addressing global challenges and promoting scientific excellence.
