The Lifelong Learning and Training Center of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) is launching the new training program “Provision of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid in the Community.”
🎯 Program Objectives:
The program enables participants to:
• Organize an appropriate first-aid kit for community settings, tailored to environmental and public health conditions.
• Recognize when basic life support is required and administer it, either with or without the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
• Apply appropriate first aid interventions in emergency situations prior to hospitalization, at the scene of the incident.
• Implement immobilization and patient-transfer techniques for individuals requiring urgent care in a healthcare facility.
• Perform specialized first-aid techniques such as recovery positioning, ischemic bandaging, the Heimlich maneuver, and others.
👥 Target Audience:
• Employees in tourism, industry, food service, and education; members of associations and clubs; and private volunteers.
🗓 Registration Period: 02–12–2025 to 05–01–2026
🎓 Course Start Date: 16–01–2026
⏱ Duration: 20 hours
Distance Learning:
• 6 hours of asynchronous learning with uploaded educational material available prior to the practical training session.
• 4 hours of synchronous online training (Friday, 16/1/2026, 17:00–21:00).
In-Person Practical Training:
• 10 hours of hands-on practical training at the Laboratory of “Emergency Nursing and First Aid,” Hellenic Mediterranean University, Heraklion (Saturday, 17/1/2026, 09:00–19:00).
📄 Upon successful completion, a Certificate of Training is awarded.
