At the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Chania, the 1st Intensive Teachers’ Training Summer Course of the European project “K12 Agile Learning of Programming with Educational Robotics” / ALPER-EU is taking place from 1 to 6 June 2026.
The action is implemented with the participation of important institutional, educational and research bodies from Greece and the European Union, including the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) of the Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, and the Directorate for Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills (DDLTS) of the Ministry for Education of Malta.
The summer course brings together teachers and experts from five European countries, aiming to provide training in the modern teaching of programming through agile teaching methodologies and the use of educational robotics.
The event is coordinated by Dr. Antonios Konstantaras, Professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering of HMU, in cooperation with the ICT Education Advisor of Crete Georgios Gogoulos, the Directorate of Primary Education of Chania and the Directorate of Secondary Education of Chania.
A central part of the action is the round table discussions with the participation of the Institute of Educational Policy, teachers and education officers. These discussions highlight the need to connect educational policy with everyday teaching practice, exchange good practices and promote the use of educational robotics in the classroom.
The ALPER-EU project is implemented by a consortium of eight organisations from five European Union countries and aims to contribute to the development of a modern European model for teaching programming, with emphasis on creativity, collaboration and the development of digital skills from an early age.
