HMU Hosts the ATMC International Tourism Marketing Conference in Greece for the First Time

The 10th International Conference Advances in Tourism Marketing (ATMC) was successfully held in Heraklion, Crete, from September 25–27, 2025, hosted for the first time in Greece by the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) and its Department of Business Administration and Tourism. The event was held under the auspices of the Region of Crete, the Regional Development Fund, and the Municipality of Heraklion, with the support of Paralos Hospitality and the Wines of Crete network.

The conference brought together over 250 researchers from 28 countries, with 164 attending in person and more than 120 scientific presentations. Renowned keynote speakers from the UK, Poland, and Australia addressed emerging trends in tourism marketing.

  • Sustainability, Cultural Heritage & Local Identity
  • Creative Industries, Gastronomy & Storytelling
  • Destination Branding & Data-Driven Marketing Strategies

In addition to academic presentations, participants experienced the cultural and gastronomic heritage of Crete, through tasting events, traditional music, and local craftsmanship, including visits to the Knossos archaeological site and the village of Archanes.

ATMC is one of the leading international conferences in tourism marketing, offering a dynamic platform for dialogue between the academic and tourism industry communities.
