Significant Achievement for the Department of Business Administration and Tourism of Hellenic Mediterranean University: Accreditation of the Undergraduate Study Program by ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)

The Department of Business Administration and Tourism (BAT) of the School of Business and Economics of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), based in Heraklion, is delighted to announce the official accreditation of its Undergraduate Study Program (USP) by the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) — the leading global professional body for accountants and finance professionals.

This accreditation offers graduates of the Business Administration and Tourism Program a significant advantage, as they are now eligible for nine (9) exemptions out of the thirteen (13) examinations required by the ACCA qualification. This represents the maximum number of exemptions granted by the Organization, highlighting the academic excellence and international relevance of the Department’s curriculum.

The collaboration with ACCA establishes a dynamic framework linking students directly with the labor market, creating opportunities for internships, employment, and career advancement. At the same time, students are able to fulfill part of the practical experience requirement (PER) necessary to obtain the globally recognized ACCA qualification.

The ACCA accreditation serves as tangible recognition of the academic rigor, quality, extroversion, and professional relevance of the education provided by the Department of Business Administration and Tourism of HMU, equipping its graduates to meet the demands of an increasingly globalized professional environment.

For more information regarding the benefits of the collaboration with ACCA, interested parties may visit the official website of the Department of Business Administration and Tourism | Hellenic Mediterranean University, or contact Dr. Alexandros Garefalakis, Associate Professor of BAT, at agarefalakis@hmu.gr.
