The Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Committee is an advisory body of the University, tasked with promoting gender equality and combating discrimination based on gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, health status/disability, age, or sexual orientation at all levels of operation and in all processes and activities of academic life. The Committee contributes to the prevention and handling of all forms of discrimination, as well as the prevention and handling of sexism, sexual harassment, and any form of harassing behavior within the institution.
Indicatively, the Committee’s responsibilities include:
- Developing action plans for the promotion and safeguarding of substantive equality and the elimination of discrimination in the University’s educational, research, and administrative processes.
- Submitting recommendations to the competent bodies regarding measures for the promotion of equality and the elimination of discrimination, as well as for addressing sexual harassment and all forms of harassing behavior.
- Providing information and training to members of the academic community on issues related to gender equality, LGBTQI+ rights, the elimination of all forms of discrimination, and the prevention and handling of sexual harassment and other forms of harassment.
- Recording reports and complaints concerning incidents of discriminatory treatment and sexual harassment or harassment on the basis of gender, and forwarding them to the competent bodies.
