Accommodation

HMU provides for Residence Halls which can host 296 students in Heraklion and 37 students at the Departments located in Chania, Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos and Sitia.

There are 56 positions in double rooms, 4 positions designed for disabled students and 236 positions in single rooms. Double rooms cost 30€ per month, while single rooms cost 45€ per month. There is no charge for students from a large family, in case they choose a double room. The income of these rents is used mostly to support student events and partly to cover operating costs.

Students not having received a room in the residence halls are entitled to a rent allowance, as long as they comply with the conditions of Article 10 of Law No 3220/2004 (Government Gazette 15A/2004).
