ATHENA Workshops at HMU:
Life Cycle Thinking & Engaging Game Design
The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) welcomes professors and members of the academic staff from Vilnius Tech (Lithuania) for the organisation of two experiential workshops within the framework of the ATHENA European University Alliance. HMU has been a member of the ATHENA European University Alliance since 2020, contributing substantially to the promotion of international cooperation by participating in actions related to academic mobility and innovation in higher education. The ATHENA Alliance brings together a total of ten (10) member universities.
The workshops are addressed to students and members of the academic staff and will take place in person at the Library and Information Centre of HMU, at the Heraklion University Campus.

• Life Cycle Thinking
Tuesday, 13 January 2026 | 10:00–13:00
Introduction to life cycle thinking as a holistic approach to sustainability, combining theory and practical application, as well as a presentation of the role of BIM, BEM and Digital Twin technologies in sustainable decision-making.

• Engaging Game Design: Design Your Career Game
Wednesday 14 & Thursday 15 January 2026 | 10:00–12:00
A two-part creative workshop exploring the principles of game design and gamification as tools for learning, motivation and professional development, through collaborative design.

Participation can be registered via the QR code displayed on the event poster.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
