The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) participates in the Training Program funded by the Region of Crete, titled: “Training Program for Young People in Disadvantaged Areas and Socially Vulnerable Groups (entrepreneurship – employability – training – social innovation)”
The program, offered free of charge to participants, aims to empower young people by providing knowledge and developing skills that enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential. The program is implemented by the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the University of Crete, in collaboration with the Center for Political Research & Documentation (KEPET) of the Department of Political Science, and the Market and Entrepreneurship Research Unit of the University of Crete.
The Scientific Coordinator of the program is Professor Nikos Papadakis (University of Crete).
The program starts on November 1, 2025, runs for six months (200 hours), and includes 16 thematic modules focusing on the development of soft and transversal skills, as well as modern competencies relevant to key sectors of economic activity. The training will be delivered in a blended format, combining in-person teaching with both synchronous and asynchronous online learning methods. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Training corresponding to 8 ECTS credits.
HMU actively contributes to the program with three teaching staff members, who will offer their scientific expertise and professional experience to support the delivery of educational modules:

– Responsible for the module: “Standardization – Specifications – Quality Standards for Agricultural Products”

– Responsible for the module: “Artificial Intelligence Applications, Entrepreneurship & Sustainability”
3. Dr. Elina Drakaki, Lecturer, Department of Management Science and Technology / School of Management and Economics
– Responsible for the module: “Knowledge and Skills for Remote Work (key characteristics of the lego-flexibility economy and skills related to digital nomad employment)”
