UNICEF at HMU

The Head of the Unicef Office in Greece, Luciano Calestini, visited on Friday, February 17, 2023, the Rector of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Nikolaos Katsarakis, on the occasion of his participation as an invited speaker in the Seminar “The protection of children’s rights in the modern era: Challenges , institutional framework, partnerships of social partners” held at the campus facilities in Heraklion.

The event was held under the auspices of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, the Health and Road Safety Laboratory (LaHeRS) and the Hellenic Basketball Federation, with the support of the Unicef Office in Greece, in the context of the final phase of the Hellenic Cup in Crete.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Director of the Health and Road Safety Laboratory (LaHeRS), Maria Papadakaki and the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility of the Hellenic Basketball Federation, Zacharias Stagakis, issues related to the legislative framework and the promotion of rights were discussed of children in Greece and exchanged views on improving the conditions for the inclusion of children who are under-represented in everyday reality.
