The 2nd Plenary Meeting of the SUNRISE program was successfully held on July 1-2, 2024, at the premises of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) in Heraklion. Three laboratories of the Hellenic Mediterranean University participate at SUNRISE: the Biomedical Informatics and Electronic Health Services Laboratory – BMI (Director: Professor Manolis Tsiknakis), the Telecommunication Systems Research and Development Laboratory – PASIFAI (Director: Assistant Professor Evangelos Markakis ) and the Applied Social Research and Social Work Laboratory (Director: Associate Professor Klio Koutra). SUNRISE focuses at adolescence – a critical period when many risky behaviors begin. The program combines proven digital solutions to prevent smoking and other risky health behaviors with innovative approaches such as social campaigns, ad readability training, educational games, and social bot platforms.
