HMU – RevitUp: Memorandum of Cooperation for Education, Research, and Innovation in Tourism

The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) and RevitUp.Direct signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Monday, October 13, 2025, establishing a comprehensive framework for collaboration in the fields of education, lifelong learning, research, knowledge transfer, and developmental and social initiatives in the tourism sector.

RevitUp.Direct, based in Heraklion and active in Greece, Cyprus, and Tanzania, specializes in Hotel Revenue Management, Online Sales & Distribution Management, Digital & Performance Marketing, Consulting, and Training. The company stands out for its innovative 360° holistic approach, which integrates these services to achieve measurable profitability growth for its partners.

The initiative for the signing of the Memorandum originated from HMU’s Department of Business Administration and Tourism, which acts as the lead and coordinator of the collaboration.

From HMU — Rector Professor Nikos Katsarakis, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning Professor Fotios Mavromatakis, Executive Director Dr. Vanessa Simandiraki, Dean of the School of Management and Economics Professor Alexandros Apostolakis, Chair of the Department Associate Professor Markos Kourgiantakis, and Vice-Chair Associate Professor Alexandros Garefalakis.
From RevitUp.Direct — Minas Liapakis (CGO & Co-Founder), Giorgos Ergazakis (CEO & Co-Founder), and Rena Karanikola (Human Resources Manager).

Main pillars of cooperation:
• Enhancing higher education: Involvement of industry professionals in teaching, co-design of seminars, scholarships, and expanded internship opportunities for students.
• Lifelong learning & human resource development: Training programs via HMU’s Lifelong Learning Centre (KEDIVIM), workshops, mentoring, and coaching.
• Research & knowledge transfer: Joint applied research, cooperation in national and European projects, and support for scientific conferences.
• Developmental & social initiatives: Studies, funding proposals (e.g., through NSRF), regional initiatives, and awareness-raising activities.
• Networking & communication: Joint dissemination of actions and participation in national and international fora.

This Memorandum formalizes and expands the already close collaboration between HMU’s Department of Business Administration and Tourism and RevitUp.Direct. It is expected to further strengthen the university’s links with the labor market and tourism entrepreneurship while enhancing applied research and extroversion.

As part of this partnership, HMU supports and hosts the 5th Revenue Masterclass, titled
“Hotel Revenue through Digital Marketing Synergy: A Masterclass for Strategic Growth,”
organized by RevitUp.Direct on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the “Markos Karanastasis” Events Amphitheatre (HMU Sports Complex).
