The culmination of a long and fruitful collaboration is the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed, on Friday, November 22, 2024, between the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) and the Economic Chamber of Greece, Eastern Crete Section (ECEC), by the Rector, Prof. Nikos Katsarakis and the President of ECEC, Evangelos Glakas. The aim of the memorandum is to plan training and education activities for the members of the ECEC, to conduct research-studies on issues of financial interest, entrepreneurship and business administration and to plan joint activities and events related to the professional rehabilitation of the students of the Hellenic Mediterranean University as well as their connection with the labor market. Both the Rector and the President of the ECEC emphasized the benefits that can arise from a stable, sincere and fruitful cooperation for both entities and for society. Career Days, which will take place on December 7 and 8, 2024, at “Markos Karanastasis” Indoor Gymnasium on the Heraklion Campus, also falls within the latter field.
The signing ceremony of the MoU, on behalf of HMU, was attended, in addition to the Rector, by Prof. Fotios Mavromatakis, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, Assoc. Prof. Konstantinos Petridis, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Outreach, Prof. Alexandros Apostolakis, Dean of the School of Management and Economics, Assoc. Prof. Markos Kourgiantakis, President of the Department of Business Administration & Tourism, Assoc. Prof. Konstantinos Panagiotakis, President of the Department of Management Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Ioannis Hatziantoniou, President of the Department of Accounting and Finance and the representatives of HMU in the Joint Committee with the Regional Department of Eastern Crete of the Economic Chamber of Greece, Christos Floros, Professor of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Alexandros Garefalakis, Associate Professor of the Department of Business Administration and Tourism and Christos Lemonakis, Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative Science and Technology. From the side of the ECEC,were present, in addition to the President, Mr. Dimitrios Angelidakis, the Financial Supervisor of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Georgios Sarris, member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ms. Evangelia Maraki, Administrative Staff of the OEE/TAK.
