The Department of Business Administration and Tourism was founded as per Government Gazette Issue A70 – 07.05.2019, and is the evolution of the Department of Business Administration (based in Heraklion). The duration of studies in the department is 4 years (8 semesters). On their 3rd year (5th semester), students can choose between the following two (2) advanced majors:
- Business Administration (BA)
- Tourism Management (TM)
This new Department is the only department in Crete offering university-level tourism education. It is worth noting that the Department of Business Administration and Tourism provides comprehensive studies in tourism seeing as, in addition to the main degree, it also offers the following:
- Two-year vocational training program entitled “Food Units Organization and Management Executive”
- Master’s in “Hospitality and Tourism Business Administration”.
- Master’s entitled “Organization and Management for Engineers” in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The possibility of preparing and submitting a doctoral thesis, since September 2019.
